She is an environmentalist and theologian, social activist and author and carries a vision to inspire and equip Christians to a whole-life response to poverty, helping build a movement that brings about lasting change on the issues that impact the poorest and most vulnerable.

She specialises in theology concerning evolution and the problem of suffering. Bethany is the author of “God, Evolution, and Animal Suffering: Theodicy Without a Fall” and “Why is there suffering? A pick your own Theological Expedition”.

In this episode, our guest is Dr. Andrew Grinnell. Andrew has been involved with developing responses to poverty for over 20 years. After working nationally with The Salvation Army, he spent 10 years living in a low-income estate in Leeds seeking to develop places of hospitality with local people. He is a facilitator for the Leeds Poverty Truth Commission, co-director of the Poverty Truth Network and a core team member of Urban Life.

In this episode, our guest is Dr. Naar M’fundisi-Holloway. Naar works for the Salvation Army Research and Development Unit as an Action Researcher. She was born and raised in Zambia and is a third generation Salvationist. Outside of her work, her research interests include African Christianity, Pentecosatal and Charismatic Christianity, diaspora missions, church and state relations and HIV/AIDS in Africa. She is the author of an academic book entitled Pentecostal and Charismatic Spiritualities and Civic Engagement in Zambia.

He is married to Catherine and they have two sons. In his spare time he is a keen long distance runner and triathlete.

In this episode, our guest is Lt. Colonel Dean Pallant. Dean is the Secretary for Communications, for The Salvation Army in the United Kingdom and Ireland Territory. Born in Zimbabwe, he moved to the UK in 1990. He met his wife Eirwen during Salvation Army officer training. Together, they served in the UK, USA and Zambia. Dean completed his doctorate in theology at King’s College, London and his first book, Keeping Faith in Faith-Based Organizations, was published in 2012. His latest book, To Be Like Jesus!: Christian Ethics for a 21st-century Salvation Army, was published in 2020.
