A podcast from the Children and Youth Department of The Salvation Army in the UK & Ireland. In each episode a special guest will join our host for a hypothetical hike as they face four choices and answer four questions - How do we face change? How do we move through suffering? How do we receive joy? How do we mature in service? It’s a chance for them to reflect on their life so far and share wisdom from the way.

In this episode, our guest is Phil Wall. Phil began working life as a London Policeman and came to faith at the age of 19. In 1990 he began working for the Salvation Army and launched the UK Mission Team that he led for the next decade. During that time, he led a team that planted Raynes Park Community Church, launched a number of programmes and missional initiatives including the Roots event. With his wife Wendy WeSeeHope.org.uk was launched. Over the last 23 years it has served nearly 800,000 people through its programmes and has raised over $30 Million to help vulnerable young people to learn skills to build their futures. To help facilitate the growth and development of the charity Phil has been serving and coaching corporate leaders across industry sectors all over the world. As part of the Queens Platinum Jubilee New Years Honours list both Phil and Wendy were honoured with an MBE each for their work in Africa and linked business innovation which was presented to them by King Charles. In 2023 they are planning to move to the USA for a few years to support the work of www.weseehopeusa.org. He has been married for 38 years, has 3 adult children & loves curry, rugby and golf
